This is my assignment from major course – AVT 611 Graduate Design Seminar. This is a location specific/environmental type project. Students are required to make a typographical statement that integrates location into a communicative whole. All words must be written by the student, and must be tailored to the environment to make a visual and linguistic statement. For this project, I got inspiration from the living room’ corner of my house. In my opinion, the corner represents the marginalized groups. We piled the sundries in the corner, nobody cared. Just like the marginalized groups without caring. Thus, the theme of my project is the attention marginalization. I brought the LED strip light to design the word of marginalization and then pasted on the wall of the corner. I light the corner and make it glow. Now, it is not a corner, it becomes a view. This means that I appeal to the community to pay more attention to the marginalized people.
This is my assignment from major course – AVT 611 Graduate Design Seminar. This is a series of three posters project. Students are required to pick a topic that feel passionate about and would like to spend some time exploring. Posters should work together individually and as a group as a graphic statement. Results should be appropriate for a poster. The typographic focal point must be created by hand. All written content should be authored by students. For this project, I chose the topic of “27 Club”. They are Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix respectively. Since they are all died of a drug overdose at the age of 27. The purpose of my posters is to educate the public that “Drugs will be harmful to you. Taking drugs will ruin your whole life. Or your future will come to an end.” They are all rock stars, they are the celebrities, so they should be responsible for their behaviors and they have to be the role model for their fans.
